I love problem solving. I love the arts. And I love brands. At an early age, branding was something I felt, but didn’t understand. I can trace it back to a time when I had my face pressed against the glass at a Volkswagen dealership in the 8th grade, staring at a bright red Volkswagen Beetle on the showroom floor. I was hypnotized by a car whose round shape, bright red paint and personality told a story. It wanted to be in someone’s garage and became another cult following for a new generation all over again.
Brands have left an imprint on all of us. We love them, we express ourselves with them, join communities that evangelize them. It became a passion to understand the power brands have on us and how we become loyal to them. Maybe it’s a favorite restaurant, laundry detergent, orchestra, theater, or performing artist. We love them and the communities they create.
